EPICS\’ student Kurt Kremitzki was announced as a winner of the Linux Foundation Training (LiFT) Scholarship. The LiFT scholarship provides individuals with access to free training courses along with a Linux Foundation System Administrator (LFCS) or Linus Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) exam. From more than 1,000 applicants ranging from ages 13-66 years old, only 14 scholarship recipients were chosen, and of these 14 recipients, six continents are represented.
Award were given across seven categories, Kremitzki, 28, who is from the United States, won the \”Developer Do Gooder\” category. Kremitzki is studying biology and agricultural engineering at Texas A&M University and is working with a university in Mexico to design irrigation systems for a Mayan community in the Yucatan.
This training scholarship will help Kremitzki gain the tools he needs to advance his career beyond his work at university.
