Stochastic Seismic Inversion for Offshore Site Investigation.
Description of Research:
My previous research was numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation to detect sinkholes and subsurface cavities in a complex heterogeneous media. Based on an accurate finite-element analysis in geophysical forward modeling, stochastic approach is proposed to seismic inversion for geotechnical offshore site investigation. Ground model for offshore site investigation is a database of information that includes geological, geophysical and geotechnical properties of a site. This resource is used to identify all relevant unknowns to inform the foundation design and installation methods for a field development. The purpose of my research is to reconstruct the spatially varying elastic properties of geomaterials from seismic data, and improve the quality of ground model efficiently.
